SOUTHLAKE REAL ESTATE
The city of Southlake is a beautiful community within miles of the Dallas/Ft Worth International Airport and is a prime property search for the affluent searching for homes in Dallas or homes for sale in the Dallas Metroplex because of its school system second to none and high quality residential and commercial growth..
Both State Highway 114 and State Road 26 are avenues from Southlake to the airport and perhaps more important for the ladies, the Grapevine Mills Mall has some fantastic outlets, such as "Off Saks 5th Avenue," (my favorite), and many other wholesale outlets. The only other outlet of its kind that I know of is the Potomic Mills outlet just south of Washington DC.
Southlake city fathers are very goal oriented in keeping Southlake beautiful and among the most desirable places to live in the Dallas real estate and Ft Worth real estate areas. The Carroll Independent School District consistently ranks above state and national averages with four campuses attaining Blue Ribbon status and a exemplary rating from the Texas Education Agency. High School SAT scores have consistently averaged above 1,050.
The northern portion of Southlake borders on Grapevine Lake, a very large desirable lake by any standards. One of the distinct advantages Southlake has is large lots and acreage for horses as well as beautiful subdivisions with homes in the $400,000 up range to well past a million.
Southlake is bordered by Grapevine, Keller, and Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. By the 1960s the scattered community had incorporated. The estimated population was 1,250 in 1966 and 2,031 in 1970. People moving from cities to the rural atmosphere of Southlake caused phenomenal growth in the 1980s, when the population grew from 2,808 in 1980 to 7,065 in 1990. Most of the population (6,823) was in Tarrant County, and the remaining 242 were in Denton County. By 1990 six manufacturers in the community produced engines, concrete products, and food packaging. Southlake had become the third largest community in Tarrant County, after Fort Worth and Arlington and is considered one of the most desirable places to live in the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex and should certainly be considered for someone very interested in shool scholastic standings and affluent neighborhoods where they can be assured of future Appreciation.
